November 22, 2002 Ohio Fair Participating Plan Member: Since our last letter of September 4, 2002, there have been some new developments concerning providing adequate property and liability coverage to the member fairs of the Ohio Fair Participating Plan (OFPP). The Ohio Fair Managers Association (OFMA) has expressed its desire to pursue a property and liability program for Ohio fairs. Members of the OFPP board of directors have met with representatives of the OFMA in an effort to explore this possibility. The OFMA has requested proposals from three parties that have expressed interest in providing this coverage. The responses are to be returned to the OFMA by early December. It is hoped that the OFMA will be able to announce the results shortly thereafter. Ultimately, each fair is responsible to place its property and liability coverage and your insurance agent will be able to assist you with this effort. The agents are being kept apprised of the efforts of the OFMA and, as always, will be in a position to assist you. There seems to have been some confusion concerning the present coverage to member fairs of the OFPP. Members who have coverage with the plan will continue to have their present property and liability coverage in force until the normal expiration date in 2003. The exception to this, are those few fairs whose policies expired after September 1, 2002 and were extended until January 1, 2003. Member fairs will continue to have their claims paid both now and in the future in accordance with the terms, conditions and limits of their policies. The Plan’s board, legal counsel and administrator are committed to providing the same high quality service you have come to expect. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your Ohio Fair Participating Plan Agent or any of the Directors. Sincerely, |
